Wall of Heros

Daniel Jared Gunn
It's been 30 years since I've seen my sweet red headed son and angel, Jared. Not a day goes by that I don't think of him. January 17, 1993 was the worst day of my life. Even through my sorrow, I knew Jared could help someone have a second chance at life by giving his organs. Jared helped save six people's lives and I have had the privilege of meeting all but one of his recipients. Being a part of Team Mississippi is my way of keeping my son's memory alive. -Angela Melton

Casey Henslee
September 18, 1990 - November 15, 2022 Casey was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma but grew up in Decatur, Mississippi. He was eager to serve his country and joined the Mississippi Army National Guard while still in high school. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 204th Air Defense Artillery Regiment and was deployed to participate in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Casey’s exceptional ability to motivate enabled him to guide and empower many individuals in overcoming physical and mental challenges, driving them to pursue greatness and achieve their true potential while deployed. After he was honorably discharged, he led a full life. He was a carpenter by trade, a clown at heart, and loved his family with all his heart. He was a jokester, striving to always put a smile on anyone’s face, but his smile always lit up any room. Casey’s two children, were the “light of his life” and his impact on others will be remembered for generations to come.

Kendrick Murry
My hero Kendrick Murry decided to be a donor on his own. He passed away in 2015, saving six lives. One gentleman is the Minister of Music at our church, Michael Minor which I designated a kidney to. The other was our cousin Clintoria Johnson which we found out on Mother's Day! That was truly a blessing. I'm so proud my son made that decision to think of others instead of himself. He'll be missed but he lives on. -Adrian Murry
